The 10 Commandments are
"The Torah."
The Hebrew word "torah" is translated into English
as meaning, "The Law."
The word actually means much more.
The (archaic) root is:
yarah (yaw-raw')[Strong's #3384];
to point out (as if by aiming the finger), to teach:
And by implication; to discipline, and show "the way." That
is, the way to righteousness!
Christians are taught, for the most part, that they live in the
"Dispensation of Grace" and we are not under the law. The 10
commandments are no longer in affect, because we have been given the
Holy Spirit to guide us.
New Testament writings disagree with this view point.
However, I admit that I worship
the
of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the
Prophets,......
Acts 24:14 (NIV)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the
TORAH or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Matt 5:17 (NIV)
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matt 5:18 (KJV)
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test . "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"
He answered: "'Love
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
"You have answered correctly,"
replied. "Do this and you will live."
Luke 10:25-28 (NIV)
[Notice that when questioned;
the torah observant Hebrew man, Yahuahshua hamashiyach pointed this man
to the torah, the 10 commandments.]
It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the
TORAH.
Luke 16:17 (NIV)
Now a man came up to
and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"
"Why do you ask me about what is good?"
replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
Matt 19:16-17 (NIV)
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of
, and the faith of .
Rev 14:12 (KJV)
But what is the Torah? Is it the 10 commandments alone, or does it
include all of the other ordinances and statutes included in what would
become, Judaism
The answer to this question is revealed in
Deuteronomy 5:22.

Look
carefully at the last verse (No. 22)

Verse
22:

"and
he added no more." |
gave the 10
commandments, and "he added no more."
That's what it says,
"he added no more."
"'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of
," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?
Jer 8:8 (NIV)
The other ordinances and statutes come from
men. Men who want to
"lord" their authority over others, by building a religion
composed of laws that they interpret; full of traditions and ceremonies.
A religion where they are preeminent, serving first of all
themselves.
Perhaps this is why
hamashiyach had this to say to the Pharisees:
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous.
And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'
So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.
Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!
"You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?
Matt 23:27-33(NIV)
This is how the original 10 Commandments (in Paleo Hebrew) may have
read:
[Please note, the original tablets were written on both sides]
*2

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before
, as he hath commanded us.
Deut 6:25 (KJV)
Is this word (or promise) no longer in
effect?
This is love for
: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
I Jn 5:3 (NIV)
As a side note:
The Hebrew phrase translated into English as "the ten
commandments" is more accurately translated as the "ten words
or utterances."
Could the original tablets of stone have contained only 10 words? Such as the ones shown below (read

(Text taken from Duet 6:5 and Lev
19:18)
Hamashiyach would later express this same idea by
saying:
.....Thou shalt love Yhwh with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matt 22:37-40 (KJV)
Perhaps when Moses came down from Mount Sinai to
witness the Hebrews sinning, it became apparent to Yahuah that they
were not ready for the "10
Words." So that when they were rewritten they had to be elucidated into 10 separate
commandments.
Then finally those commandments had to have their meaning
explained in the finest of detail, to allow for every contingency and
interpretation until finally the torah was supplemented by the Misnah
Torah and the Talmud.
All of the additional commentary is absolutely unnecessary - if you will follow the first 10
words. That is all Yhwh requires. In fact, every other multiplication
(or division) of the 10 words, actually back up (idealogically) into the
10 words.
On the other hand, the religionists, the men who enjoy their prominence
while "Lording" their authority over other men; would have you
believe that you need their interpretation - their religion.
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and
everything unclean.
Matt 23:27 (NIV)
