| This is short but sweet. Anyone who listens to the news knows what's going on. There are wars and rumors of wars; famines, pestilences, and earthquakes. But is this the beginning of sorrows? Hasn't this same thing been going on since history has been recorded. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matt 24:6-8 NKJV So how can we know when these things that have always occurred in the past, actually begin to signal the beginning of sorrows? There may be a clue found in the translations of this scripture verse; Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. Rev 3:11-12 NKJV Obviously the word "quickly" does not refer to a short space of time, as measured in years. Since it has been almost 2000 years since that was written. The Greek word translated as "quickly" can also mean "suddenly," or "by surprise" (as soon below). (#5035) tachu (takh-oo'); neuter singular of #5036 (as adverb); and means, shortly, i.e. without delay, soon, or (by surprise) suddenly, or (by implication, of ease) readily. (#5036) tachus (takh-oos'); of uncertain affinity; fleet, i.e. (figuratively) prompt or ready: I did a search for ancient Greek writings that have included this word, to see how it had been used in the past. I found an ancient Greek expression (related to #5036) "Fleet of Foot," written as “podas tachus” In Homer’s Iliad, this expression is related to the hero Achilles, the invincible warrior who was able to run very fast. It conveys the idea of "rapid succession," as in the action of feet, as they run very fast. In other words, it could mean, that once the tribulation begins, and the "Day of Yahuah" is upon us, all of those calamities that usually take place on occasion (and separated by a space of time) such as wars, earthquakes, famine, and pestilence; may occur all at once, in rapid succession, like falling dominos. Thereby giving credence to this verses: "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke 21:34-36 NKJV A snare is a trap that is sprung unexpectedly; and catches those who are unaware. We know that once the snare has been tripped, the rest of the events, over the next seven years, will fall like dominos. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matt 24:21-22 NKJV Evenso, come Yahuahshua HaMashiyach! <home> |
