The Wicked
Is there really a hell?
Is the concept of heaven and hell a product of Greek dualism and not akin to
Hebraic thought?
What is to become of the wicked? Is physical death the end of life for the
wicked? When they die, are they in a totally unconscious state while waiting for
the resurrection of the dead? Will all men be resurrected or only the righteous?
Are the wicked sent to a "holding place" while waiting for the judgment
day, a place of torture and darkness, a place where:
"There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Matt 8 (NKJ)
The scriptures say, concerning the resurrection:
However, I admit that I worship
the

of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,
and I have the same hope in as these men, that there will be a resurrection of both the
righteous and the wicked.
Acts 24:14-15 (NIV)
For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1 Cor 15:21-22 (NKJ)
The wicked are estranged [are
as strangers] from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,
Which will not heed the voice of charmers, Charming ever so skillfully.
Break their teeth in their mouth, O
! Break out the fangs of the young lions, O !
Let them flow away as waters which run continually; when he bends his bow, let his arrows be as if cut in pieces.
Let them be like a snail which melts away as it goes, like a stillborn child of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
Before your pots can feel the burning thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, as in His living and burning wrath.
The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
So that men will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely He is
who judges in the earth."
Ps 58:3-11 (NKJ)
The wicked are destroyed:
What if Yhwh, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath-- prepared for destruction?
What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory--
Rom 9:22-23 (NIV)
You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.
Ps 9:5 (NKJ)
The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great-- and for destroying those who destroy the earth."
Rev 11:18 (NIV)
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 20:15 (KJV)
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Matt 25:41 (KJV)
The wicked are considered dead while they are alive.
Another disciple said to him, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father."
But Yhwhshua told him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
Matt 8:21-22 (NIV)
The wicked are burned up:
The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity.
Ps 5:5 (NKJ)
Then you will trample down the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things," says
Yhwh Ul.
Mal 4:3 (NIV)
I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against
Yhwh. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like filth.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the
Yhwh's wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth."
Zeph 1:17-18 (NIV)
At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace. In his wrath
Yhwh will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them.
Ps 21:9 (NIV)
Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.
Ps 97:3 (NIV)
But the wicked shall perish; and the enemies of Yhwh, like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish. Into smoke they shall vanish away.
Ps 37:20 (NKJ)
"The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
"and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matt 13:41-42 (NKJ)
is angry with wicked:
Yhwh is a just judge, and Yhwh
is angry with the wicked every day.
If he does not turn back, he will sharpen His sword; he bends His bow and makes it ready.
Ps 7:11-12 (NKJ)
A few things spoken of the wicked, from Psalms and Proverbs.
But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
Prov 2:22 (KJV)
For Yhwh loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;
the righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.
The law of his Yhwh is in his heart; his feet do not slip.
The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, seeking their very lives;
but Yhwh will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
Wait for Yhwh and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a green tree in its native soil,
but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.
Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.
But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off.
The salvation of the righteous comes from Yhwh; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
Yhwh helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
Ps 37:28-40 (NIV)
When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish, and the hope of the unjust perishes.
The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.
Prov 11:7-8 (NKJ)
In closing:
I have heard it said many times, in my life time, that a loving and
kind "God" would not cast his children into a lake of fire for
all eternity. After all, aren't we all "God's" children?
I think the answer to that is an obvious and scriptural, no! The wicked
do not belong to .
For all of those who would ask me the question, would a loving and kind
God really send his children to hell or some other form of eternal
separation, I ask you this:
Would the loving and kind Creator ,
our force
those who he calls, "the wicked" to spend an eternity with
him? The wicked, who while they were alive on earth, did not want to
spend one minute with him? The same ones who did not heed his voice,
choose his way, fellowship with him or with brothers and sisters in the
faith.
Instead, they were estranged from him from the womb, considered
"dead" while they were alive (on earth) practicing all sorts
of wickedness. Am I to believe that these people will receive the same
inheritance that the Creator has reserved for the righteous, who headed
his voice and lived by his torah as heirs to the faith of Abruham? That
is absurd and flies in the face of reason and scriptural truth.
If that were true, they would be no purpose in defining right and wrong,
or wickedness and righteousness. There would be no order, only chaos and
certainly no need to be redeemed from anything, if there is no
punishment or separation awaiting the wicked.
Finally, if all men are eventually saved in the process of time (as Christian
Universalists believe) why would there even be a need for a savior?

Column 14
.....the spring of light shall become an everlasting fountain, without
end. In its brilliant flames all the children of injustice shall burn,
and it shall become a fire which burns up all the men of guilt completely.
Moses once asked "Eternal" our Creator:
....., "Please, show me Your glory."
Then He (Yhwh) said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name
Yhwh before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live."
And Yhwh said, "Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock.
"So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.
"Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen."
Exod 33:18-23 (NKJ)
While the Creator did this for Moses, he proclaimed this truth:
Now Yhwh descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of
Yhwh.
And Yhwh passed before him and proclaimed, "Yhwh, Yhwh Ul, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,
"keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation."
Exod 34:5-7 (NKJ)
By his own word; "by
no means clearing the guilty."
Which brings me back to the opening question, Is there really a hell?
"The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born."
Matt 26:24(NKJ)
If death is the end of the wicked, how could it be better for a man to
have not been born?
