Short study notes

Yadah (yaw-daw) and Yahudah (yaw-hoo-daw)

The name which identified Jacob's son Judah, and the tribe of Judah, is a combination of two words; "lift the hands in praise," to "Yaw-hoo," which is an abbreviation of the name Yaw-hoo-ah.

First  look at the definitions  for 3061 and 3034 taken from Gensenius' Hebrew-Chaldee (Aramaic) Lexicon with Strong's number included:

Note the Hebrew spelling, including the vowel points for each word.

3063 Yehuwdah (yeh-hoo-daw');from 3034; celebrated; Jehudah (or Judah), the name of five Israelites; also of the tribe descended from the first, and of its territory:

3034 yadah (yaw-daw');a primitive root; used only as denominative from 3027; literally, to use (i.e. hold out) the hand; physically, to throw (a stone, an arrow) at or away; especially to revere or worship (with extended hands)

This deception, practiced by the scribes to hide the Creator's name, in direct opposition to Yhwh's exhortation to the contrary,  is repeated over and over again throughout the scriptures.
The kaw-mates seen in the three letter root word (yadah) is replaced by a she-waw when spelling the four lettered word Yahudah. Making the pronunciation of the word (as written with a she-waw) "Ye-hoo-daw" instead of "Yaw-hoo-daw."

Yahudah

Yadah

Remember, just as the names of each consonant reveal its corresponding sound, so it is the same with each vowel point.

The vowel  "kaw-mates" makes an "aw" sound as in the English word, "all."
